About our Clermont concrete contractor team
How I got into concrete
I learned concrete under an old-school boss who made us tear out forms that weren't right, and I spent years on his crews before I started Clermont Concrete Company here in Clermont in 2023. I didn't love redoing a form board back then, but he was right, because the parts nobody sees, the base, the forms and the joints, decide whether a slab cracks or sinks a few years later. That's still how we work.
Homeowners call us for driveways, patios and pool decks, and builders and property owners call when there's a slab, footing or lot to get right. I'm curious by nature, so the odd jobs other crews pass on, like a cut through an existing wall or steps at a door you can barely reach, are the ones I enjoy most. I'll also give you the honest answer, even when it means a smaller job than you expected. You'll find the full list of what we build on our home page.
What you can expect when we take your job
The same person from estimate to pour
I walk your job myself and write the estimate, and our own crew does the work with me on site when the concrete goes in. That way what we talked about in your driveway is what gets built, and you've got one person to ask when a question comes up.
Prep you won't see but will count on
Before any truck shows up, we dig out and pack the subgrade, the ground your slab sits on, check where the water will run and set the forms until they're right, because that's where most cracking and sinking starts. We also plan the control joints, cuts that give the slab a straight line to crack along, so any cracks land where we chose and not across the middle of your patio.
A straight answer on tricky jobs
A tight entry, an opening cut in an old wall or a pool deck that might not be worth saving are the jobs I like most, and I'll tell you plainly what we'd do and why. If the honest answer is a smaller job than you expected, that's the answer you'll get.
Our license, insurance and permits
Licensed contractor
We're licensed and fully insured, and when a job needs a permit, we pull it and handle the inspections with the city or county office that covers your address. A Clermont address can sit outside city limits, in unincorporated Lake County or in Groveland or Minneola, so finding out which office covers yours is one of the first things I check.
Insurance on file with every permit
Inside city limits, the City of Clermont issues building permits to any currently licensed contractor, and for each permit the contractor turns in their license, proof of workers' comp or an exemption, and liability insurance naming the city. If you're comparing crews, it's a fair question to ask each one whether they can do that.
